The forgiveness argument is lowkey brilliant. If Cratchit's reconciliation with Scrooge was just programatic, the whole moral arc collapses into behavioral conditioning rather than actual redemption. I remember watching this as a kid and being genuinely moved by Kermit's restraint and then his acceptance, which only works if theres somthing real underneath the felt recognizing genuine change.
